Ralph E. Combs, age 82, of Centerburg, passed away September 30, 2016. Born in Honaker, VA June 14, 1934 to James M. and Theressa Tressie (Meade) Combs. He was a dedicated farmer who received numerous Knox County farming awards. Formerly employed by Cooper Bessemer and Strait’s Farm Equipment. Ralph also was a former Milford Township Trustee. He was an outdoor enthusiast, avid hunter, card player and enjoyed athletics. Ralph was known as an excellent storyteller and jokester. Devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Dixie (Anderson); son, Randy Combs of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Tamara (James) Rasor of Mount Vernon and Pamela (Duane) White of Centerburg; grandchildren, Tyler Rasor, Chelsey Rasor, Meghan (Jason) Bentz, Ryan Combs and Bailee White; sister, Phyllis Warner of Mount Vernon; brother, Roger Combs of PA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Scott Combs; grandchildren, Scott Rasor and Todd Rasor; brothers, Allen, Glenn, Robert and Douglas Combs; sister, Shirley Zinn. Private graveside service at Eastview Cemetery. Family will receive friends at a reception for Ralph at the Fuller Center in Centerburg on Thursday (Oct 6) from 6-8 p.m..
