Howard H. Smith, age 93, of Galena Ohio, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017. Retired from General Motors where he active in the Union and was also intrumental in getting the Credit Union started. A WWII Army Veteran who participated in the landing at Normandy and was a Purple Heart recipient. Survived by siblings Betty, William, Della, Jack, Dorothy and Arlene; nieces Amy (James), Julie and Teri; nephews Vance (Lola), Danny and Erik; sister in law Aritha; special friends Leonard and Darlene Dill and Sahron and Dee Dee. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 27th from 2-4 p.m. at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, where a service will be held Monday, August 28th at 10 a.m. Rev. David Hogg officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.
