Carolyn Deniston, age 83 from Westerville, passed away peacefully at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital on Thursday evening, June 8, 2017. Carol was born in Auglaize County, OH on March 21, 1934 to Leona and Edward Wellman. She graduated from New Bremen High School in 1952 and retired from Westerville City Schools. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Richard. They celebrated more than 50 years of marriage and are now together again. Also preceding Carol are her brothers Charles and Mack Wellman. Carol is survived by her children David and Jeff Deniston of Westerville and Chris (James) Harrison of Grove City; sister Mary (Merle) Sampson of Swanton; sisters-in-laws Marian (Charles) Wellman of New Knoxville and Vernita (Mack) Wellman of New Bremen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. To our friends, neighbors and family: For your love, support, and prayers throughout Mom’s battle with cancer and in dealing with her passing, we thank you. To Mom: It’s hard to express the great love and respect we have for you. You were loving, strong, and supportive. Always had a smile and kind words for everyone. You take a piece of our hearts with you. David, Jeff, Chris, and Jim. Visitation will be held at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, in Westerville, OH on Thursday June 15, 2017 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Becky Strang, pastor of St. Paul United Church of Christ, at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen, OH on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
