Christmas was a special time of year for Doris and her family, especially the exchanging of stockings filled with gifts and treats. Doris store, in the basement of her home was always a highlight of family visits. It rivaled small grocery stores in stock and was even equipped with toy shopping carts and bags.

Doris children will always remember her as Miss Coppers, the lunch lady, extreme couponing before it was a thing, working for Arbitron, the Food brokerage (The Cookie Lady), London Fog and Kohls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Alice Reed and a sister, Mary Lou Cavanaugh.
