Susan, we hold your shattered heart in our hands. We know that you and Rick shared a love and friendship well beyond what many ever experience. We are so sorry for the sudden death of Rick. We got to know the delight of Rick as our backyard neighbor. We remember his laugh, his kindness and teasing, helping the boys experience their first time with sparklers, farmer Rick chasing rabbits, his generosity- making enough meat to share when he used the smoker; he knew we'd tormented by the smokey scent. Most of all, we remember how you both showed a deep love in the everydayness of life.

Rick was such a special friend and neighbor. We have so many wonderful memories of his kindness, charm, humor and generosity. Rick and Susan took an interest in our children from the moment we met and they also have many fond memories of him. Rick's love of gardening was a special connection as we took care of his 'farm' while they traveled, which gave us a new appreciation for his interests. We will miss him greatly and will always be there for Susan. Rest in peace sweet Rick.
