Willie M. “Bill” Mackey, of Cincinnati, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 80. He was born in Batesville MS on January 6, 1935.He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Judy Barron Mackey; daughters, Yvonne Mackey Boyd, St. Louis, MO, Janet Mackey, Cayman Islands and Michele Gilmore, Cincinnati, OH; sons, Michael and Ronnie, St. Louis, MO. Son, Ray preceded him in death. He is also survived by six siblings of 11 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. After being honorably discharged from the US Army, he worked for the Veterans Administration, retiring in 1989 after 32 years of service. as the Chief Medical Administration Officer at the Columbus VA Clinic. A 30 year resident of Centerburg, OH, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, entertaining friends and cooking on his homemade smoker. A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be conducted Friday, January 16, 2015 at JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, OH. At 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am.. A celebration luncheon at Centerburg Church of Christ will follow Interment in Eastview Cemetery.

We want to share in your sorrow but recognize that the Lord has accepted into his presence a good and faithful servant.” We. are saddened by the home going of your loved one, Brother William Mackey, yet we rejoice in the knowledge that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Only God knows our time and pulls those he chooses from the garden of love for His kingdom. “He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds” Psalm 147:3.
So remember family, weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Take comfort family and look for the angels for you will see him again in the bosom of the Lord
