William "Bill" R. Sims Jr. passed away on April 22, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on January 22, 1930, he grew up in a world of limited technology and ended with a hybrid car and a phone in his pocket. He enjoyed sharing his life experiences and contrasting the past with the present.

Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy and Carol, his mother, Ruth, his father, William Sr., and several nephews. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 wonderful years, Betty Sims, his son, Rick, his daughters--Linda Lamme, Sharon Sims, Gabrielle Henderson, and Kathi Thompson--the entire Lowe family, nieces, and nephews. He had long time workout buddies and dear friends who gathered monthly for dinner and parties.

A proud veteran, Bill served his country with honor during the Korean War. Upon his return, he embarked on a career joining his father at North American Aviation where they built airplanes together. His career led him to various managerial positions at esteem companies including the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company, Hercules Box Company, Roach Studio, and International Bag.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill was known for his passion for literature particularly his fascination with World War II history and mystery novels. A true wordsmith, he excelled at solving crossword puzzles, earning him the title of a cruciverbalist.

Bill's talents extended beyond the realm of books and puzzles. He was a self-made handyman, possessing the skills of a seasoned electrician, plumber, carpenter, and stone mason. His craftmanship was not only evident in his work but also in the knowledge and skills he passed on to his son and daughters.

In accordance with Betty and Bill's wishes, no memorial service will be held. However, friends and acquaintances are invited to share their condolences and memories with Betty by e-mail at Bettbill66@gmail.com or by mail at 105 E. Ticonderoga Dr. Unit K, Westerville, OH 43081.

Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His guiding hand on our shoulder will remain with us forever. We love you, Dad.
