William Porter Lowry, age 92, born in The Plains, OH on Feb. 1, 1922, passed away on Thursday October 9, 2014 at Heartland of Westerville Nursing Home. Preceded in death by wife, Frances; parents William & Frances, brother Denver and sister Ferne. Survived by step-son, Larry (Lucy) Bright; grandchildren, Larry (Karen) Bright, Jr. and Michael (Amy) Bright; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew; brother Paul (Jean) Lowry. He retired as a Master Chief with 20 years service in the U.S. Navy with service in World War II, Korea and the Cold War. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville. Private interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
