SIMMS


W. Bruce Simms, Jr., 84, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and fafa passed away peacefully on April 11, 2011. Born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio and resident of Westerville, Ohio since 1962. He is preceded in death by his father W. Bruce Simms, Sr. and mother Anna Simms, sisters Libby, Kate, Ruth, Ada and Peggy; son Michael and daughter, Robin. An avid sports fan, a great lover of OSU football and golf including the Master’s Tournament. A World War II Veteran, former Lions Club member and inducted Kentucky Colonel. Member of Central College Presbyterian Church, graduate of The Ohio State University. He loved meeting people that lead to a life-time of work that included Landmark Corp., Roush Hardware, Sears, Harry & Dots Bait Store and most recently Lowes Hardware off of Hudson Ave. He is survived by wife of 63 years, Betty, sons David (Debbie) of Calabash, NC and Brian (Angie) of Westerville. grandchildren Heather Smith (Kevin), Gene Riggs, Jennifer Simms, Emily Hindbaugh, Eric Hindbaugh and A.J. Hindbaugh; great grandchildren Madelyn, Logan Michael, Gavin and Lukas; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday April 15, 2011 at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville with visitation from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Dr. Richard Ellsworth officiating. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.
