Virginia Mae “Jinny” (Thompson) Strapp, 95, passed away Thursday April 7, 2016 at the Laurels of Norworth. Lived in Westerville for many years upon moving to Gahanna, OH followed by a move to assisted living at Oakleaf Village. Virginia worked for the City of Columbus Franklin County, Secretary to the Executive Director for Columbus Council of Defense for 2 yrs. and for Strapp’s Custom Countertops owned by Richard and Virginia Strapp. Volunteerred at St. Ann’s Hospital for 12 years. She enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jinny loved socializing and Church of Messiah as her church, especially a true gift and connection with visits from Joy McCord. Preceded in death by parents, James C. and Emily E. (Sheets) Thompson, first husband and father of children, T. Richard Strapp, second husband Frank Poczik, brother William Strapp and grandson Craig Black. Survived by children; Sharon (Ken) Vargo of Georgia, Linda Abrams of North Carolina (formerly of Westerville) and James R. (Naomi) Strapp of Westerville. Grandchildren; Harold and Patrick Strapp, Scott (Laura) Black, Brian (Tosha) Black, David (Jennifer) Goodall, Jeni Dreisbach and Kodi Abrams. Great Grandchildren; Tyler and Ryan Dreisbach, Kennedy and Dylan Goodall, Max and Craig Black, Karlie and Levi Millsap. Many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held 12 Noon on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Linda Scott officiating. Private Interment.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charity of Your Choice or Cancer Research.
