Tom (M. Thomas) Augustus, 88, died peacefully on April 12. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne Metzger Augustus and his parents, John and Marguerite Augustus. Tom was born in Perry County, graduated from Rosary High School in Columbus in 1947 and served for 2 years in the Air Force. He married Jeanne in 1954. After running Blendon Appliance Center and holding several other sales positions, Tom found his calling as a Realtor in Westerville. Tom loved life and rarely met a stranger. He never failed to find someone from Perry County no matter where he went in life. He loved Big Band music, dancing, camping, playing cards and cars. He embraced technology and always coveted the latest cell phone. He especially enjoyed hanging out with his buddies selling bratwurst from the Sertoma Brat Wagon and meeting friends for breakfast at any number of uptown Westerville establishments.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 28 at 10:30 a.m at St. Paul’s Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville. The family will receive family and friends 2 hours prior to the Mass at the Church. Arrangements will be handled by Moreland Funeral Home. Private interment will be held at a later date.
