Theresa M. Dawson (nee Hess), born February 2, 1962, in Cincinnati, Ohio, currently of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 30, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Rev. W. Edward Hess. She is survived by her wife and soulmate, Courtney Maki; her mother, Mary G. Hess (Tieman); brother, W. Edward Hess II (Caroline); sisters, Donna Adams (Jeffrey), Barbara Mason (Rhonda), Paula Eby (Kurt) and Samantha Compton (John Paul) as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends.
Theresa found her passion in the food service industry. Throughout her career, she held many regional supervisory positions for national restaurant chains. Theresa was also a huge sports fan. She loved to watch all sports but especially loved to cheer on her Cincinnati teams.
Theresa's kind spirit, generosity and compassion touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her family, many friends, and all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville Ohio. There will be a short service following visitation.
