Theodore (Ted) Kraschinsky Jr., 94, of Sunbury, Ohio passed away peacefully with family by his side on June 8, 2025 after a brief stay at The Inn at Bear Trail Assisted Living in Lewis Center, Ohio. Ted was born July 6, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Theodore and Edna Kraschinsky.
Ted was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Kathryn and Dorothy. Also passing before him was his son Jerry and former spouse, Janet, the mother of his five sons.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Millisor) Kraschinsky of 40 years, four sons: John (Aimee) of San Jose, CA; Duff (Margie) of Marion, OH; Jim (Julie) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter-in-law Marta of Scottsdale, AZ; Jay (Jenni) of Tampa, FL, twin sister Edna “Dolly” Kraschinsky of Cincinnati; 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
Ted was a United States Navy Veteran and earned a BS Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin (Madison). Ted earned a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Ted moved his young family to Ohio in 1965 and was a successful engineer/manager for Cutler-Hammer; Fairfield Engineering; Floyd Browne Associates; Ventura Engineering and Nationwide Insurance. While at Cutler-Hammer, he designed controls for NASA for the Gemini program gantry tower. He taught engineering classes at Marion Technical College at night for a number of years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus (former Grand Knight).
Ted loved Door County Wisconsin and especially Sturgeon Bay where he previously owned three cottages on Lake Michigan. After moving to Ohio, he and his family spent a few weeks each summer at the cottages enjoying the natural beauty of the Lake and woods.
Even with living the majority of his life in Central Ohio, Ted was a lifelong fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers (as a shareholder). He loved all his dogs especially his current Shih Tzu’s, Buddy and Snoopy. Ted really enjoyed breakfast at Bob Evans with Linda, family gatherings and being members of the Living Word Lutheran Church in Galena.
Above all, Ted loved collecting and restoring classic cars throughout his life - mainly Chevys and Chryslers. He probably owned upwards of 100 classics in his lifetime (not all at one time!). There wasn’t an inline 6 cylinder that he didn’t like. He and Linda spent many weekends at car shows attending and/or participating. Most conversations Ted had with his sons and friends began and/or ended talking about cars, the Brewers or the Packers or all three.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 7539 Dustin Rd., Galena, OH 43021. Visitation is at 9:00am and Service at 10:30am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Marion, Ohio. Friends of the family are invited to join the family to celebrate Ted’s life for the Visitation, Service and a luncheon following the burial at the Women’s Club at 1126 E. Center St. Marion.
The family would especially like to thank the nurses/staff at Transitions Hospice, The Inn at Bear Trail Assisted Living and the EMT’s at Olive Green EMS.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Living Word Lutheran Church, 7539 Dustin Rd., Galena, OH 43021in Ted’s name. If you would like to send flowers, they can be delivered to the funeral home Friday to be taken to the service at the church on Saturday morning.

I often think of Ted as my daily two servings of oatmeal--5 minute cooking time NEVER instant--is one of the many nuggets of wisdom I gathered from our conversations. It was an honor to serve as his pastor and his many forms of encouragement were always appreciated-including the time he kindly helped me clean the ashes I spilled on his carpet when I brought communion to his home on an Ash Wednesday when he was recovering from a minor surgery. As this dear friend is now with our mutual greatest friend--Jesus--may God's comfort be with Linda and his entire family at this time of loss. Linda, you too were a great blessing to me. I am grateful that the Lord will continue to hold you in His arms. My prayers are with you.
