Service
Friday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection
Terri May Rosenthal of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024. Born July 17, 1956 to Dorothy and Eugene May, she grew up in a large extended family of five siblings and many beloved cousins in Cleveland. She leaves behind husband of 29 years, Gary Rosenthal, daughter, Owen Pollack (Joe Hancox), stepdaughter, Chris Ball (Rodney), stepson, Brett Rosenthal (Melissa), 7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and two devoted sisters, Marjorie Rawn and Sheila May. She was predeceased by older siblings Jim May, Mary Ellen May Salo, and Gene May.
An incredible K - 5 elementary school teacher, English as a Second Language and Reading teacher with 40 years of service, who always rejoiced in the diverse backgrounds and personalities of her students, Terri was very proud of her Master's Degree at age 50. While she excelled at teaching, she truly shined as a supportive mother and grandmother. She traveled to Dayton to watch her beloved granddaughter, Bridget, and enjoyed many park play dates, was enduringly patient with endless games, and was a key player in "Bridgets bakery". She lived abroad in Brussels, Belgium from 1996-1999, and was always a gracious host and travel partner and guide to family and friends. A devoted Catholic, in her retirement she took up pickleball, piano lessons, embroidery, and volunteering at the Schottenstein Center. Her beautiful smile was one for the ages. To the end she was always up for games and her light and laughter will be sorely missed.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m on Friday, January 17 at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany, OH 43054. The family would like to thank the Inn at Walnut Trail for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable contributions in memory of Terri Rosenthal be made to Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026, www.brainsupportnetwork.org.

We are heartbroken over Terri’s passing. We lived next door to Gary when he and Terri started dating, and we were very quick to “approve” Gary’s interest in taking their relationship to the next level. We loved Terri and our neighborhood on Cherry Ravine Court rallied behind the couple and hosted their marriage and celebration quite literally in our back yards. Those days with incredible friends and neighbors are some of the very best memories for us. Terri had a kind and generous heart and spent her life giving to others and celebrating the success of others! I was grateful to see Terri when she was healthy in May 2022, and I will cherish that visit and time together. A few of us in the family stayed in Gary & Terri’s home at that time, and Terri made us feel so comfortable and welcome and she and Gary organized somewhat of a reunion for other neighbors. The disease that stole the final period of her time on this earth do not define her beautiful life and the lives she touched. Terri will be forever missed and I extend our love and support to Gary, Owen, Joe, Bridget and all other family members. Ric and I are honored to be able to attend Terri’s funeral service.

Gary, Owen, and Family, We were so heartbroken to hear about Terri’s passing. She was not only a wonderful colleague during my time at North Linden Elementary but also a dear friend who brought so much kindness, warmth, and joy to everyone around her. Terri’s passion for teaching and her way of connecting with students from all backgrounds was truly inspiring. Her laughter, her caring heart, and the love she had for her family will always stay with us. Please know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers during this tough time. We hope you can find comfort in all the beautiful memories of her incredible life and the love she shared with so many. With love and sympathy, Esteban and Erika Saldarriaga
