Suzanne L. Borchers, 76, of Westerville, OH, died peacefully at home on June 7, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born April 14, 1948, to Gerald and Jeannette Laliberte of Nashua, NH. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John C. Borchers and her three daughters, Kate (Greg) Hastings, Giselle (Jeff) Spurgeon and Andrea (Dave) Henry; grandchildren Colin Hastings, Andrew, Lily, and Michael Spurgeon, Barrett and Charles Henry; a brother Charles (Betty) Laliberte; and many loving nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.
Born in Nashua, NH, Suzanne moved multiple times throughout her life. She was known for her kind and generous spirit, making lifelong friends everywhere she lived. Suzanne met her husband while attending the University of Dayton and settled in Ohio to raise her family and care for her parents. Suzanne was a gourmet cook, an avid reader and an enthusiastic traveler. She volunteered in her communities and opened her home to families and friends who needed help or a place to stay.
Her favorite trips included cruising rivers in Europe, riding camels in Morocco, eating her way through France, exploring churches in Russia, walking through Ireland and the UK, and staying with friends in Turkey and Australia. She also went sightseeing around the United States and Canada, touring many of our National Parks. Annually she planned family vacations to Lake Cumberland, KY, Cape May, NJ, Kiawah Island, SC, and Hueston Woods State Park in Ohio. Family joked she knew the streets of Paris better than downtown Columbus.
We would like to thank family and friends for the bounty loving letters, calls and visits she received during her time in hospice. We would also like to thank Father Denis at Church of the Resurrection and the hospice team at Inniswood Village (National Church Residences) for their care and attention.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 21st from 10-11 am at Church of the Resurrection 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany, OH 43054 where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am
Close family and friends are invited for refreshments at Inniswood Village following mass.
In lieu of flowers we would like people to donate to a charity that is near and dear to our family: Children Up.
Condolences

I’m saddened to learn of Suzanne’s passing. I was a fellow band mom at Sycamore HS and grew to enjoy and respect Suzanne. She always had kindness in her heart no matter the circumstances. I also enjoyed her stories of her travels and later, enjoyed her comments after reading about my bicycle touring adventures. She left many great memories which will bring smiles to all for a very long time . Donna (mom to Sara Clark and Emily and Joanna Boutilier)
