Stephen Michael Horan

Stephen M. Horan, of Westerville, OH, died peacefully at home on January 27, 2023 in the care of his loving wife and constant canine companion, Rufio. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Horan, Sr. and Virginia H. Horan, he is survived by his wife, Debbie Smith Horan; his daughter, Keri Leane Horan; stepchildren, Kristen DeLong, Craig DeLong and wife, Sarah and nine grandchildren; sister in-law, Karen and husband, John Walker; brothers, Thomas J. Horan and wife, Norma of Merrimack, NH; Michael P. Horan and wife, Linda of Billerica, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews, and cousins. Born in Lowell, MA on July 30, 1952, he was raised in Billerica, MA where he attended Billerica Memorial High School before entering the work force as a roofer. Over the years he gained a reputation for quality work and speed, eventually starting his own company, Direct Roofing with longtime business partner Don Pugh. Steve never knew a stranger. His laugh, spirit and kind heart make him larger than life; he could make you melt with a wink and a smile. Comedic genius, master and champion roofer, bowman extraordinaire, life of the party, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. At his request, a gathering for friends and family to celebrate his life by sharing stories and memories will be held at Heritage Condominiums Clubhouse,123 Lafayette Dr., on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew Church, Billerica MA on March 10, 2023 followed by interment of his ashes at Fox Hill Cemetery where Steve will be laid to rest with his parents.
