Dear Ricker family, I was saddened to learn of Sharon's death. She was always a friendly and loving person. One particular memory I have is the time she came to our Girl Scout troop and taught us some new songs-she will always be remembered in my mind as the person who taught me about "Little Rabit Foo Foo". Those were fun times when Michelle and our daughters Debby and Melissa were at St. Paul School. Please accept our family's sincerest sympathies. I know Sharon will be missed by many. Sincerely, Jim and June Jackson and family

Sharon was my dear friend in the neighborhood. Someone as community minded as Sharon was needs to be honored. She will be greatly missed by the community, and certainly I will miss her. She and I enjoyed many lunches and chats together. Sharon’s involvement in the Blendon Township community: She was an active member of the neighborhood association as a Block watch representative. She served as a Street Captain for delivery of the association newsletter for several years and she always helped with delivery. Sharon also wrote articles for the association newsletter. Sharon regularly attended the HRAA meetings. Her love for beauty and excellence in gardening resulted in her winning first place the inaugural year of what was then called Huber Ridge Blooms, in 2008. Twice she opened her yard to ALL of Westerville as her yard was twice chosen to be part of the renowned annual Westerville garden show, WesterFlora. Every year after winning “Blooms” she was a judge, helper, coordinator, and financial contributor from 2009-2021. Twice she hosted the Blooms committee at her home while the committee deliberated winners. Because she loved Christmas, Sharon initiated and executed the annual Holiday Lights program for the Huber Ridge neighborhood. This involved a large time and financial contribution on her part. She carefully selected treats for the winners and artfully displayed them in large baskets she purchased. Any family pets were always treated as well. She coordinated with the police department to help her on award night and always rewarded the officer(s) who accompanied the committee with a very generous gift basket. It was her idea, her desire to promote holiday beauty, her time, and her resources. She was very generous. For National Night Out in August Sharon always asked that the police and fire department come to her street. She provided refreshments and opened her yard for neighbors - again, her attempt to educate and generate community. She was on the zoning commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and she was involved in the Blendon community plan. She regularly attended Blendon Township Trustee Meetings and often provided input on how the community could be better served because she understood and passionately cared about community. Sharon was meticulous in the care of her own property. She was an exemplary citizen. There is so much about Sharon to appreciate. She loved her family, her dog, and life in general. I look forward to seeing her in heaven one day. May God comfort and encourage all who are missing this most wonderful person. We will miss her for a very long time.
