Scott A. Schmidt, Sr., of Westerville, passed away unexpectedly February 6, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born September 5, 1962 on Chicago. IL to Ceylon and Evelyn Schmidt and moved to Westerville, OH when he was 5 years old. Scott spent the rest of his life in Westerville where he worked for Vaughn Instruments, various construction companies and was the sexton for Harlem Township. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Kitty) Schmidt, daughters, Carla (Jerry) Stephens and Christina (L.J.) Mieth; sons, Thomas (Jenna) Schmidt and Scott (Alisha) Schmidt, Jr.; grandchildren, Daniel (Sophie) Stephens, Blake Meith, Wesley Meith, Scott A. (Tre) Schmidt, III, Tristen Schmidt and Madison Schmidt; great-granddaughter, Delainey Stephens; mother, Evelyn Schmidt; brothers, Wayne Schmidt and James Schmidt; sisters, Susan Schmidt, Patricia Rabaduex and Harriet Bailey; and a host of neices and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Ceylon "Cy" Schmidt and brothers Edwin and Thomas Schmidt. Scott was a loving husband, devoted father and caring brother. He loved fishing, old rock music and aggrevating everyone, especially his wife Kitty. He was hard working, caring, proud, selfless and a loving family man and he will be greatly missed. Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville Wednesday 5-8 p.m. where service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Fancher Cemetery.
