Ruth Louise Phillips, 89, Davenport, Florida, passed away August 9th in Celebration Hospital in Celebration Fl. Born to Miles (Myrtle Lewis) Izenberg, Ruth graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, married Donald J. Phillips in 1943, was employed by Nestles in Sunbury, then worked in the family-owned grocery in Rich Hill. After moving to Florida, Ruth worked part time for Sea World and Disney. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, and visiting with her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Jeannie) Phillips and Donald (Cheryl Laymon) Phillips; grandchildren, Lori Bechtel of Westerville, Jenny (Tom) Moxley of Mt. Vernon, Pam Phillips of Columbus, Brian (Jackie) Presley of Mt. Vernon, Rusty (Julie) Presley of Danville, Nikki (Rick) Moore of Upper Arlington, Michael Sesser of Lakeland, Florida, Mandy (Matt) Robertson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Trevor Phillips of Howard and several great grandchildren, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sr., daughter Linda Sesser of Davenport, FL and a grandson, D.J. Phillips of Howard. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Rich Hill Cemetery, Centerburg. Rev. Roger Crego officiating.
