CONLEY
Ruth Kent (Kuninger) Conley, age 92, of Westerville, OH. March 30, 2010. Born July 16, 1917 in Newark, OH. Graduate of Newark High School in 1935 and attended Denison Conservatory of Music. Her life was devoted to the care and well being of her family and the community. She was highly regarded for her kind, gracious spirit, her intelligence and humanity. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, an ordained elder, Sunday school teacher and as a guide to women’s groups. She lived in a number of communities and in each one she sought to serve through her church and through local organizations. She was active in leadership of the Girl Scouts of America, a member of Eastern Star, and a member of Women’s Clubs in Newark, Delaware and Glyndon, Maryland. She volunteered for local libraries and numerous other organizations. She was employed by the State of Ohio in the Office of Employment Services, as an examiner, trainer and supervisor. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, baking, and playing bridge and golf. She was the devoted mother of Linda Hicks of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Sheila Tompos and her husband Bill of Westerville, Ohio, Carol Evans and her husband Timothy of Owings Mills, Maryland, and Barbara Starr of Phoenix, Arizona. She was also a loving grandmother to David Daily, Stephen Tompos and his wife Lori, Shannon Star, Trevor Starr and Justin Starr and his wife Jennifer. She adored her great granddaughters Laurel, Stephenie and LilyAnn Tompos. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore James Conley; great grandson, Marine Cpl. Ryan Penna-Daily; parents, David and Lorena Kuninger; her sister, Aileen Kuninger Howard. Her family will receive friends at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 41 W. College Avenue, Westerville, Ohio 43081, Rev. Mark Gauen, officiating. Private interment, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark, Ohio.
