CLAY


Rufus Allen Clay, of Westerville. Born April 26, 1927 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord December, 13, 2009. He enjoyed 20 years of retirement after 37 years of service at Burgess and Niple, Ltd. where he worked on many civil engineering projects including Hoover Reservoir. Member of the Westerville Christian Church, Westerville Senior Center and volunteered for 27 years at Worthington Christian Village. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Sally (Liming) Clay; children, Debbie (Larry) Kelly, Steve (Lisa) Clay and Dan Clay; grandchildren, Craig (Angie Bowers) Cochren, Chris Cochren, Roxanne (Mike) Anderson, Kelsey Clay, Colton Clay, Scott Kelly and Heather (Kelly) Roberts; great-grandson, Case Rufus Cochren; brother, Albert of Panama City, Florida; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Fanny (Brown) Clay, brothers, Howard and Bob, sisters, Iva and Dorie. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville,Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Friday at 11 a.m., Pastors Greg Bondurant, Mark Stier and Harold Steindam, officiating. Private interment. Special thanks to his former co-workers, golf buddies, church family and friends, and the staff at Columbus Colony Rehab Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Worthington Christian Village Benevolent Fund, 165 Highbluffs Blvd., Columbus, OH 43235.
