I do not remember Roy, but have many fond memories of his parents & going to school with Carol & Wayne. They were solids citizens of Galena when I was growing up. My deepest sympathy to all his family.

Roy was my best friend, and I considered him my older brother as well. I will miss him yelling at me when we were doing some remodeling to the properties we purchased and sold together. I miss his advice when dealing with my own family. He has always been the go-to guy when it came to me buying my cars or just to listen to him when I needed guidance in dealing with my clients. Among my many friends, he held a unique place in my life. I trusted him with my deepest personal matters, a level of trust I never shared with anyone else. His words of wisdom, 'Tony, Count your losses and keep going', have become a guiding principle in my life. I promise to live by this advice, just as he did. "He will be missed, and I loved him."

Great Uncle Roy, I will always cherish you cheering me on in my USA basketball tournament. Your smile in the crowd stood out. Rest in peace. I love you.
