With a special acknowledgement for their infinite support, John Mentzer (Tami Duffy), the St. Ann's ICU Team, the Westerville Merchants Association, and the various rescues and shelters throughout Ohio.

Born in Columbus, OH, Graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School, Ron took many turns in his professional life beginning as an amateur National Trials Racer in his Ford Mustang, then onto Roto-Rooter which led to a long career as Manager at Columbus Fasteners in Grandview. For multiple years, he presided as a member of the Board of Directors at the Humane Society of Delaware County; he was also a volunteer at the CHA Animal Shelter. In 2013, his passion for animal rights solidified with the purchase of Captivating Canines in Westerville, OH. For many years his involvement with animal rescue provided manyopportunities for animals to find their "fur"-ever homes; of which he adopted two pups (Sandie & Sunnie Day; which were his working shop girls on Tuesdays and Fridays). With the purchase of the Captivating Canines his life found new meaning. The last ten years as a champion of animal rights his enthusiasm assisted with everything from food drives to adoptions, to medical contributions and financial aid for various rescues and shelters throughout Ohio. These efforts were to educate the public to "ADOPT dont Shop".

And Per Ron, himself, Fridays are for eating beer...

Condolences

Mark Heffelfinger - Jan 31, 2023

Thank you "Ronnie Keller" for some great memories of being little kid next door neighbors in the '60's playing in the snow in our backyards during Winter, playing in the driveway, the street, the front yard in the Summer, building little airplane models out back under a warm sunshine MidWest afternoon - sometimes fighting ... watching Mike play his guitar in the doorway - or watching the band practice down the street in the garage - getting in trouble because we kept each other out late and not making it home before the street lights came on ... picking that lady's flowers down at the end of Ural Avenue and having to go and apologize for it ... rubbing Lincoln Logs on our teeth, your mom was not very happy with us that afternoon ... thank you for you and our little kid time together ... Rest well Ronnie

Condolences to your family. Although I never met Ron, I can tell from his obituary, that he had a life well-lived. God bless you during this time of grief. (From a co-worker of Jacob)

I miss you already my friend. There is an emptiness inside me. This was such a shock. You sent me many words of encouragement and support over the years. I just went back and read those messages. You were an amazing person. I will miss stopping in to your shop and chatting. I will forever remember you. My condolences to the family.

Ron, I’ll always remember your positive energy and smiles. The day at net you, you gave nothing but generosity. You always made sure my foster dogs had what they needed. You always had witty jokes and I know you made a difference in so many lives. Sending love!

Laura - Jan 29, 2023

I met Ron through my volunteer work with STS, as he would host adoption events at his store. He was always so nice, and tolerated my 4 year d running amuck in his store. The animal rescue community and downtown Westerville will certainly miss his presence.
