Ronald E. “Tippy” Dye, of Westerville, OH passed away February 22, 2018 at the Country View Nursing and Rehab Center. Ronnie had a full life. He was a dedicated employee – spending his career of 40 years with Columbia Gas in various positions. Not one to sit at home after retirement, he then worked for about 10 years helping Green and Green Auctioneers in the setting up of auctions. He also brought many treasures home during these years. He was a long-time and dedicated member and Deacon at the Spring Road Church of Christ. While the boys were growing up, he served in various positions with the Boy Scouts of America where he went on many camping trips. A great joy to him was serving as an Ohio State University Stadium usher for 40 years. Ronnie was born and raised in Dundas, Ohio. He enlisted in the Army and served honorably in the Korean War. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice “Bonnie” Dye; children, Bruce (Arlene) Dye of Upper Sandusky, Douglas (Lynn) Dye of Edmond, OK, Connie (Tom) Abele of Sunbury and Dennis (Beth) Dye of Columbus. He had seven granddaughters, Heather (Carson) Smith, Christy (Michael) Threet, Tracey (Justin) Chambers, Alison (Joshua) Hodgson, Ashley Dye, Shellie Dye, and Lisa (Jon) Martin. He also leaves 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Ronnie also leaves sister, Martha Allen of Crane, MO, brother, James “Roger” (Carolyn) Dye of Grove City and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Ronnie in death are his parents, Leroy and Nellie Dye, brothers, Russell and Rodney Dye and sister, Theresa Kuhn. Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m., Terry McGiffin, minister, officiating. Interment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park.
