Roger Robinson Brown, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on February 20, 1941, in Wheeling, WV, Roger lived a life grounded in faith, family, hard work, and quiet devotion to those he loved.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife and childhood sweetheart, Sarah “Sally” Brown, who he missed for two long years. Their love story was one of enduring commitment, partnership, and faith in the Lord, serving as an example to all who knew them.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Andrew and Wilma Grace Brown, and by his son, Mark Brown.
Roger is lovingly survived by his daughter, Karen Brown; his grandchildren, Traci (Tyler) McMillen, Suzi (Jon) Huffman, and Mack (Maritza) Morris, his treasured great-grandchildren, Stella, Lucas, Charlie, Marcelline, Skylar, and Sierra; and his life long friend Jim Herring. His family brought him immense pride and joy throughout his life.
A 1959 graduate of Shadyside High School, Roger went on to attend Ohio Northern University, graduating in 1963. He spent many years working as an electrical engineer for Ohio Bell, where he was respected for his intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic. Roger retired in 1991. He went on to become a financial advisor specializing in retirement with Morgan Stanley for 10 years.
Outside of work, Roger had a passion for flying and enjoyed many years as a private pilot. Whether in the air or spending time with family, he appreciated life’s simple blessings and carried himself with humility and kindness.
Roger’s faith was an important part of his life and guided him through both joyful and difficult times. His family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited in Heaven with Sally and those who went before him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Roger’s wife, Sally, whose life was impacted by Alzheimer’s disease. www.alz.org
