Roberta E. Bertelsen, age 81, of Westerville, passed away Wednesday June 26, 2013 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Retired Pharmacist. Member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was head of the Kitchen Krew, a member of Ruth Circle, Altar Guild, and Hospitality Committee. She was also active with the Community Bloodmobile Drive. Former Girl Scout Leader of Troop 737. Preceded in death by parents, S. Bascombe & Emma Alloway. Survived by loving husband of 57 years Raymond N. Bertelsen. Children; Kathy (Jeff) Reedy, Eric (Lorrie) Bertelsen, Cindy Bertelsen and Mike (Linda) Bertelsen. Grandchildren: Danielle (Fiancee Mike), Meghan (Klint), David, Kevin, Tyler and Dylan. Brother, Sam Alloway, sister-in-law, Margaret (Al) Barney. Several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 29, 2013 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 East Schrock Road Westerville with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastors Will Hartfelder and Richard Walston officiating. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Grace Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund in Roberta’s memory.

I have such fond memories of your mom from Troop 737. Her positive spirit and commitment to her work, family, church, community and especially us girl scouts was a blessing to me- and a valuable lesson in my youth. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

The Bertelsen family stands out in my childhood memories spent at Grace Lutheran. Mrs Bertelsen had a gift waiting right after I was born and that meant so much to my mother. I can still hear Mrs Bertelsen’s laughter while she gave her time to the church activities. You are all in my thoughts.
