Ricky Upchurch, age 64, passed away on October 17, 2017 after an incredibly courageous battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Karen, and her daughters, Eva and Carly Hyder, and his children, Rita Upchurch, Amil Upchurch, Rose Wellington, Raeissa Upchurch and Ryan Rush as well as several grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Reonal Upchurch and parents, Lee and Verneda Upchurch.
Ricky is a 1971 graduate of Mansfield Senior High. He attended The Ohio State University from 1971-1972 and is a 2012 Redstone Aviation College graduate. Ricky served in the U.S. Airforce from 1975-1986 as a crew chief. He spent his professional career in mechanics and aviation.
Ricky had a strong love for motorcycles, learning, weight lifting, biking, good food and OSU football, but his love for God and his family exceeded all else.
He attended Lifepoint Church in Lewis Center and was a member of Mens Bible Study Fellowship. Rickys joy for life and electric smile helped tell the story of how God changed his life. For this, he will be remembered.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 20th from 10-11 a.m. at Lifepoint Church, 7719 Graphics Way, B Lewis Center, OH 43035 where a service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
