So sorry to hear of your father's passing. What a life he had! Thinking of you all at this challenging time. Wishing you comfort in the memories that you shared.

Buck Fetters - Aug 29, 2024

Over 60 years ago Rich and I shared lots of memories at Dennison High School. We always seemed to deviate a bit from the assigned lab experiments and do our own. Thank God we had an understanding teacher. My sincere condolences to Carol and her family as they navigate these difficult times. The world lost a great person in Rich.

Dear Carol and family, I and all of Dick's Thursday golfing buddies are saddened and grieving the passing of Dick. A finer gentleman and friend cannot be found as we all looked forward to seeing him Thursday. He so loved his family and friends and let it be known. Dick was a fixture in our group for over 12 years , easy going but oh so competitive! A super golfer. Please know he leaves a hole in our hearts and will be greatly missed! May His grace and peace be with you all at this trying time.

Shelley Parrish Hetherington - Aug 28, 2024

I feel so many emotions as I write this. I am sad to say goodbye to this incredible man, but I am also overjoyed and thankful to have had him in my life for my entire life, as a second father. Richard Shaver has always been the epitome of a family man - loyal and loving, tirelessly devoted. He was kind, funny, and always fully present. He was a loyal and wonderful friend to my dad, and I know the two of them are happily reunited once again. Where there is a Shaver, a Parrish isn't far behind. Carol, Lisa, Terri, and Sharon - I love you all deeply, as I loved him, and I am here for you always. I am praying for peace in your grieving, and I offer you my deepest sympathy. Carol and family, I’m so sorry to hear about Richard’s passing. You all were part of our family in good times and challenges. When my Dad needed a job, Richard didn’t say “I’ll keep an eye out”. Instead, you all gave us a place to live while Richard took my Dad around introducing him to opportunities. I’ll always remember 8 kids in sleeping bags in the living room of your house on Allview laughing and being loud. Richard came into the room and instead of being frustrated, introduced us to the game and coveted title of “First to Go to Sleep Award”. His legacy continues through not only his family, but his extended Parrish family and countless others. Nancy t I have you in our prayers.

Richard was an incredible man and like a second father to my siblings and me. My youngest memories include him and the entire Shaver family and for that I will be forever grateful. While Richard was a strong, successful man, I knew him as a kind, humble, loving family man. He never put anything above his family and his heart was big enough to include me and my family in his circle. He was a great role model of what a man should be. He and my dad were dear friends and every word my dad spoke about Richard was full of love and respect. I’m sure my dad is rejoicing to see him again. Carol, Lisa, Terri, Sharon, and family, I made a promise to Richard a few weeks ago that I intend to keep. After I reminded him of his incredible legacy, I promised to look after his family like he looked after me. I know he wanted to make sure you were all ok. I love each of you dearly and will be here day and night for you. You are a wonderful family and he was proud of all of you. With all my love and sincere sympathy, Andee Parrish Rowson
