Dear Evans family,
You do not know me but Dick was a mentor of mine when I worked with Weyerhaeuser in Buffalo NY. (he called me Buffalo Bobby) I just learned of Dick’s passing the other day and want to send to you my sincerest condolences. I can honestly say that I have never known a man that I had more respect for. I looked forward to his trips to Buffalo to help me prospect potential industrial customers, not because of his tremendous help, but simply for the time that I could spend with him in my car talking about a million and one different things. I never met any one individual that new more about a multitude of subjects than Dick. He was truly the NICEST man that I have ever met. I will miss him tremendously and so will so many others, more than you know!
Sincerely,
“Buffalo Bobby”

Nancy:
We met many years ago when you attended a Weyerhaeuser Top Team dinner in Louisville with Dick. I learned of Dick’s passing through Kerry Hubbard, and I wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dick was a special man. I enjoyed working with him so much, as he was the consummate professional, always calm, cool, and collected, regardless of the situation. But more than that, Dick was an outstanding human being. In the 17 years I spent with Weyerhaeuser, I think my joint calls with Dick were some of the most memorable times for me. I will never forget him, and was blessed to have known him.
Please take care of yourself and stay strong in your faith, for as it is written, we’ll all be reunited in God’s Kingdom one glorious day. God Bless you and your family, and the Daily family will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Nancy, I am sorry for your loss. Dick was special in so many ways, he possessed a demeanor that allowed him to coach, teach and mentor people in subtle, effective ways. He was genuine and humble at all times and I am confident he never knew the positive dramatic impact he has had on so many lives. I was fortunate to have worked with him and valued his guidance, knowledge and friendship. He will be missed, a truer gentlemen I have never met!

Nancy and Family,
Very sorry to hear of your loss. Saturday was a tough day for all of us, and many memories filled that day. It was a sincere pleasure in working with and knowing Dick. He was a very warm, genuine and supporting person. He also possessed and shared a great deal of knowledge and insight, both in regard to our business, as well as his occasional entertaining and educational historical references (which I personally enjoyed very much!). Being a former college football player, Dick would always refer to me as “my favorite tackle”. Dick will always be my favorite Buckeye, and fondly remembered often.

Nancy and family~
I had the pleasure to know Dick during my work activity at Weyerhaeuser. I was in a similar capacity and Dick was the “role model” that was lifted up to all on Jack Casey’s team. Dick was a great teacher, mentor, and person with wonderful values. My life is blessed by having the opportunity to know him.
