Richard Charles "Chuck" Loshbough, age 88, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28,2022. Born March 4, 1934 in Parma, Ohio, the son of Russell and Thelma (Preston) Loshbough. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marla Jean Loshbough and daughter Lori Jean Loshbough. Survived by sons David (Nancy) of Johnstown and Mike (Denise) of Westerville; granddaughters Amanda Haskett (Adam Demarco), Lindsay (Stuart) Lopez, Stephanie Loshbough and great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kayden Raised in Toledo Ohio, Chuck graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A pitcher on his DeVilbiss High baseball team, he spent one year on the roster for the U of T Rockets before "retiring" to concentrate on academics. After graduation he spent the next 40 years employed by Toledo Scale but never considered it work, just getting paid for a hobby he loved. As a research scientist, he shares over 50 U.S. patents and many more foreign patents with fellow co-worker Roger Williams for scale design and innovation. When not performing his hobby, Chuck and Marla traveled often, with Naples Florida being their favorite destination. After retirement, they were able to take Marla's dream vacation that she had wanted for so long to Europe. After her passing, Chuck sponsored several annual family vacations to the Outer Banks. Chuck was a big sports fan, especially baseball and football. An avid bowler in his early years, his real passion was for golf. He played many years of work league golf and numerous rounds with his sons, including his bucket list round in Hawaii several years back. His other passion in retirement was building desktop and laptop computers, as he said "to keep his mind sharp". He also provided computer repair and diagnostic services to anyone who asked, always at no charge. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH on Tuesday, October 4th 6-8 p.m., where service will be held Wednesday, Oct 5th at 11:00 a.m. lnterment Pioneer Cemetery.
