Richard E. Calender, age 85, of Columbus, OH, passed away December 27, 2015 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Retired carpenter. Veteran of U.S. Army Air Corps. Volunteer at Columbus Alzheimers. Survived by sons, Robert (Cynthia) of Westerville and Richard of Hamilton, OH; grandchildren, Brigitte (Andy) Amorose, Natalie (Shareef) Rabba, Tiffany Calender-Hardin, Andrea, Jared, Ryan (Kacy) and Chris (Vida) Calender, and Josie (Steve) Schlachter; great-grandchildren, Kalista and Justus Hardin, Noelle Rabba, Eric and Peyton Schlachter; sister, Barbara and brother, Wayne, both of Lancaster, PA; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Lillian. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Graveside service and interment will be held at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens, Marion, OH Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Tom Barford, officiating.
