Rebecca "Becky" Shannon, age 82, entered into the arms of her precious Jesus while surrounded by her family she loved so much. She fought a very short battle with colon cancer. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Earsey and Edith Vandergriff.

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her in-laws, Carl and Alberta Shannon, sister, Betty Lee, brother, Clarence Vandergriff, sister-in-law, Darlene Vandergriff, brother-in-law, Sam Shannon, nieces, Sandy Vandergriff, Nancy McHale and son-in-law, Larry Falstick.

Becky is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charlie; daughters, Christi (Dennis) McKibben and Cheryl Collins; granddaughters, Caitlynn and Cassidy Collins who were her pride and joy as well as her step-grandchildren, Penny (Joshua) Overmyer, Dennis (Angie) McKibben, Jenny (Kerry) Ward, Travis McKibben and Joe (Laura) McKibben; she had 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Vandergriff; many nieces, nephews and a host of many friends. There was a special place in her heart for her furry, four legged grandchildren.

Becky was loved by so many and never missed the opportunity to witness and share about her precious Jesus. Through the last 7 weeks she wanted her friends and family to visit and reminisce and make sure they knew she wanted to see them in heaven.

Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Friday, December 22nd from 4-8 p.m.. Service will be held at Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road. Westerville, OH 43082, Saturday, December 23rd at 10 a.m. with visitation from 9-10 a.m., Pastor Frank Carl and Dennis McKibben, officiating. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.

We would like to thank Promedica/Heartland Hospice team for the excellent care the last 7 weeks, their caring and professionalism has been amazing.

I feel so thankful and honored to have known and worked with Miss Beck. I am so sorry that I didn't get to come and see her and spend some time with her during her final moments. Miss Beck has always had a special place in my heart. I loved her so much. She is a very special person and she will be missed by so many people.
