Such wonderful times together and as neighbors in newly built houses in our Lithopolis peaceful patch of ground. We had such wonderful times on the golf course, going out to lunch, working together on our HOA, sharing stories, laughing on thr front porch. Ray was a solid honest capable knowledgeable friend. I miss him. Dear friend, I wish you peace, happiness. The day he stood on his back porch, with a strawlike humming bird feeder in his mouth, until the timid bird settled in the bowl and flapped it’s wings. The joy of life filled his being. I prefer to remember him like that. He loved his wife. He built that “castle” for her. Peace be with you Ray. I’ll look for you down the road.

Friends back in the seventies, Ray and I shared a passion for education--he was much better at that than was I. He inspired me in more ways than one--as a father, teacher and leader.
