Polly Ellen (Grearhear) Taylor, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024 at Legacy Westerville. She was born August 30, 1934 in Hueysville, Kentucky, to the late John Bee and Manda (Ratliff) Gearheart. She lived for over a decade in Westerville, and formerly called Columbus, Ohio her home.
Polly loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. In her home she welcomed all around the table with country cooking and delicious desserts. She couldn't stand to think anyone would go hungry if she could help it.
Polly also loved gathering at the table with all her children in her life to color, help with homework, play lively board games, supervise cookie baking, and to have tea parties.
At her table she had her morning coffee, did daily devotions, worked word search puzzles, played chicken foot dominoes, and sat and talked with family, friends and neighbors for hours.
When she moved to The Village At Westerville, she joined their tables for meals, celebrations, to read the paper, and to play games: bingo (her favorite), Blackjack, euchre and pokeno.
Polly gathers at another table now, resting on the promises of God from Psalm 23:5 & 6:"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Paul E. Taylor, her parents, 11 siblings and one grandson.
She is survived by her 5 children, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Linda Gearheart, Many nieces , nephews, relatives and friends.
Services for inurnment will be observed privately by the family at a later date.
