PERKINS
Otho E. Perkins, age 81, of Columbus, OH. January 6, 2012 at home. Retired Science Supervisor for Columbus Public Schools. Author of Science textbooks, former WOSU TV science teacher and lecturer at COSI Planetarium. World record holder of several running events and an avid marathon runner. Member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn; daughters, Susan Perkins-Loe of Pickerington and Nancy (Cameron) Swanagan-Heyen of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Ryan, Nick and Amanda Loe, Brian (Diana) Swanagan, Jennifer Swanagan, Christina (AJ) Swanagan-Blizzard, David (Sadie) Swanagan, Kevin Swanagan, Nathan and Erin Perkins; great-grandchildren, Toby and Lilly Swanagan. Preceded in death by his son, Michael, sisters, Pearl Fontenot and Robbie Blessing. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., Dr. Greg Herndon, officiating. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.
