PRATER
Opal A. Prater, age 91, transitioned to heaven on June 23, 2017. Opal was a devoted wife for 72 years to her husband Charles who passed away on March 19th. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished time spent with her family. Prior to her battle with dementia she was a feisty lady, full of joy and energy. Opal was born on October 16, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio to Clifton and Verna Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Prater, parents, daughter Mary Holderby and Grandson Jimmy Prater. She is survived by son, Jim (Terry) Prater, daughters, Sue VanWalsen, Jane (Doug) Rowland, Diana (Jack) Wollett, Grandchildren, Vicki Shepherd, Doug & Angie Rowland, Phil & Jeff Rodgers, Matt & Jack Wollett, 15 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren. Opal retired from Bank One after 10 years of service. She lived a good life and now her family will honor her wishes with a private burial service where husband and wife will be reunited again.
