Nancy was born in Urichsville, Ohio to Gene and Faye Heck, who preceded her in death. Nancy is survived by husband Mike Staley, daughter Melanie Thompson, and son Scott (Trisha) Staley; Grandchildren Madelyne, Catherine, and Justin Thompson; Sisters Janet Phil) Roads, Carol (T0m) Renshaw, and Diane (Alan) Penick; Sister-in-law Christina (Joseph) Gulan, many nieces and nephews, and herv dear friend of over 40 years Carol Gray. Nancy graduated from Whetstone High School in 1968 and The Ohio State University in 1972. She started her career in the Columbus Public School system. After staying home for several years to raise her two children, she returned to the workforce as a photographer/videographer at the Columbus Zoo, accompanying Jack Hanna on public appearances with the animals out in the community and on television. She later worked at McCallister's Photo as a portrait photographer. Nancy enjoyed crafting, antiquing & flea marketing, and spending time with her sisters. She also had quite the travel bug, embarking on many international adventures over the years with her best friend Carol Gray. She enjoyed sharing presentations on her travels with local scout groups and at public libraries. Nancy was a caring presence who will be missed by many. Nancy and I were close friends through high school, college, and beyond. She was a very special person and I have wonderful memories of our friendship. May God give you comfort at this difficult time.
