ZABONIK
Michael L.Zabonik, age 70, of Galena, OH. July 4, 2013. Retired from Johnson Controls as a proud member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 189. Member of St. Paul Catholic Church. U.S. Navy veteran. An avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his Union buddies. Survived by his children, Michael (Miriam), Mark (Kelli), Melissa (Craig) Hodgdon, Martin and Mary Zabonik; grandchildren, Anthony, Kelly, Tommy, Kate, Marin, Kaitlyn and Morgan; sisters, Jennifer Morehead and Angela Kindler; fiancee, Suzanne Stewart. Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; brothers, Anthony and Carl, and sister, Delores. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Fr. Michael Hinterschied, celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.

I’m sure this is the same Mike Zabonik I went to school with, we played baseball together at Starling and the west side boys club. My name is also Michael( nick name Mick) and he called me Big M –we had a lot of laughs together as young men-we had a lot in common- I wish i would have stayed in touch- I liked him very much- I recently lost some one I loved so I feel your sorrow- may God Bless your family in this time of sorrow – I know God is watching over Mike now andwillhave Mercy on his soul

Sorry to hear about Uncle Mike. As a child he was my hero because he was in the Navy. I used to call him off and on to discuss family genealogy. I sure will miss him.

We were friends of Mike and Sue and were so saddened to hear about the passing of Mike. We enjoyed many rounds of golf and gabbing together. He was a great friend and we will miss him.
