Michael Wayne Readnour, age 75, of Columbus passed away peacefully June, 20, 2017 surrounded by family. Proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. He followed that with a career in law enforcement serving Grandview Heights Police Department for 22 years rising to rank of Assistant Chief. A member of the VFW Post 9857 and the FOP Lodge 9. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dogs. He was also an avid John Wayne fan and collector. He was known to many as a man of few words with a gift of wisdom. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; sons, Don (Maria) and Brian; daughters, Connie Woods and Nancy (Jason) Nicodemus; sisters; Betty (Don) Ayers and Shirley Gallagher; grandchildren, Nicholas, Devin, Makayla, Cody, Colton, Reagan, Torri, Chesney, Rachel, Emma and Shyanne; brother-in-law, Jim (Margie) Steller; extended family members and friends, Mark Dinsdale, Steve Woods, Debbie Steller and Judy Steller; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Alvin Readnour; brother, Alvin Jr.; brothers-in-law, Bill (Diane) Steller and Michael Steller; nephew, Danny Ayers. Friends may call Friday, June 23rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville where a service will be held Saturday, June 24th at 10:30 a.m.. Interment Silent Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FOP Lodge 9, Kobacker House or VFW Post 9857.
