Michael Claude Chatel, age 74, of Westerville, OH. passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Kobacker House. Retired from sales at Ross Laboratories. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Clover Valley Golf Club. A talented woodworker and an avid golfer. Michael’s greatest joy was his family and especially his grandchildren. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rita; children, Paul (Becky) Chatel, Sherry (Joe) Hippler, all of Westerville, and Tom (Mary Nancy) Chatel of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Nick and Teresa Chatel, Michael, Ben and Luke Hippler, Thomas and Kennedy Chatel; sisters, Claire Conant, Mimi (Tom) Davis and Claudia (Don) Bonomo; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Michael’s devoted sister Mimi for her extraordinary care. Friends may call at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and 1 hour before Mass to be held Friday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Fr. Michael Hinterschied, celebrant. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or Homereach Hospice/Kobacker House. Arrangements by MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville, OH. Rosary will be recited at 3:45 Thursday.
