JACOBS
Melvin A. Jacobs, age 83, was born November 16, 1927 in Chicago, IL died August 3, 2011 at home in Westerville, OH. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mabel “Bobbe” Jacobs; children, Gale (Mike) Anderson of the Woodlands, TX, Richard (Lesa) Jacobs of Jacksonville, FL, Gregory (Donna) Jacobs of Bolingbrook, IL; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mel was a retired electrical engineer employed for many years in the telecommunications industry where he designed telephone switching systems. In retirement he kept busy volunteering at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, the Ohio Historical Society and many others. He was a member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist in Westerville, New Beginnings Sunday School and active in many of their missions. Always willing to help out where needed. Celebration of life service to be held Monday August 8th at 3 p.m. at Church of the Messiah U.M. Westerville, OH. Family will great friends at reception immediately following the service.
