WIEMELS
Mary Louise (Whitely) Wiemels peacefully joined her husband Bernard and daughter Christine (Eckert) in everlasting life on May 16, 2014. She was a devoted Catholic and family peacemaker who loved cooking for family gatherings and in particular, Sunday breakfast at the river. She rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy the company of her grandchildren and participating in their activities. Mary Lou was a World War II Navy nurse who continued her career in the Bexley school system and at Children’s Hospital. After retirement she became active in the Worthington Historical Society and Retired Nurses Association. She will forever be celebrating eternal life with the angels and be deeply missed by her daughter Kathleen Wiemels; son-in-law, William Eckert; grandchildren Timothy & Angie Eckert, David & Molly Eckert, Brian & Jennifer Eckert; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Hudson & Logan Eckert; and sisters-in-law, Monica & Juliet Wiemels. Visitation hours will be held Thursday, May 22nd from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, Ohio where Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 23rd, 10:30 a.m., Rev. Father Charles Cotton, Celebrant. Inurnment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Francis DeSales High School, 4212 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224, Grandparents Scholarship Fund, co-founded by Bernard Wiemels.
