Mary “Tess” Alderman

Mary "Tess" Alderman, of Westerville Oh, age 84, was peacefully called home to our Lord Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Kobacker Hospice House in Columbus Ohio.

Born on June 3, 1941, in Cincinnati Ohio, The daughter of John D. and Mary F. Tessiatore (Rohrig). Tess built a life defined by independence, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. She pursued a career in nursing, a profession that perfectly suited her nurturing spirit and her deep desire to be of service to those around her. Whether tending to patients, raising her children, or simply being a steady presence for a friend in need, Tess gave generously of herself throughout her life.

Tess possessed a remarkable spirit of adventure and an insatiable curiosity about the world. She traveled widely, journeying across this nation and to many countries abroad. She particularly fell in love with Turkey. These experiences enriched her life and reflected the bold independence that defined her character. Closer to home, she poured her heart into her beloved home on Reno Road, where she spent countless hours working on the house, tending her gardens, cultivating flowers, and nurturing the trees she so dearly loved. Her home was a testament to her dedication and her ability to create beauty wherever she planted herself.

Tess cherished the company of many life-long friends, and her regular card group. They were a source of great joy and connection throughout the years. Those who gathered around her knew a woman of warmth, wit, and steadfast loyalty.

Above all, Tess was devoted to family, her love and strength shaped and guided their lives. She is survived by her family and friends who carry forward the values of independence, generosity, and compassion that she instilled in them.

May Tess find heavenly peace and rest, her journey now complete, surrounded by God’s love and the beauty she always sought and created in this life.

Family and friends are invited to honor Tess on Sunday, March 22, 2025, at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville, Ohio. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service. All who knew and loved Tess are welcome to gather in her remembrance.
