Mary Lou Lawrence of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2022 at age 49! She was born to parents Frank and Esther Evans on July 10, 1933, in Chesterland, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio University in 1955, majoring in journalism, was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and even took part in the Homecoming court. She also met her husband there, Larry Lawrence, to whom she was married for 53 years.

Mary Lou was smart, multi-talented, beautiful, and most of all, caring. She will be remembered as a loving and encouraging daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, neighbor, friend, and she will be greatly missed. She made her childrens education a top priority. Many knew her
as the cookie lady for her large assortment of holiday cookies. Mary Lou was passionate about cooking, travel, theater, entertaining, music, gardening, playing card games, and reading. She dearly loved spending time at the family home on Middle Bass Island.

Mary Lou was a devoted supporter of the theater and was involved for many years on the Otterbein Theater Board, AAUW, and with Buckeye Boys Ranch. She was an active member of Central College Presbyterian Church, First Community Church, and Church of the Master United Methodist Church.

Mary Lou was an avid sports fan, vocally supporting her childrens and grandchildrens school teams, the Buckeyes, the Bobcats, the Indians, and the Browns. At home, she was a master crossword puzzle solver and was always ready to take on and beat all challengers in a game of Scrabble.

Mary Lou is survived by her sister and brother, Marna (Hank) Walters, and Dennis (Betty) Evans, and her children, Scott (Margie), Patrick, Rodd (Linda), and Lindsay (Robin) Sears. Additionally, she is survived by nine loving grandchildren, James, Megan, Molly, Sydney, Austin, Esther, Maren, Bronwen and Emma, who will miss Bommas fun and passionate spirit, and her fantastic theme parties.

Family will receive friends at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. Private Interment.
