Mary Louise Drake Higgins, formerly of Westerville, Ohio was born in Pomeroy, Ohio to Wheeler and Grace Drake on November 29, 1934, at age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Roy T Higgins; daughters Pamela K Higgins, and Anita (Jim) Peterfish, son Steven (Mindy) Higgins; grandchildren Justin (Christie) Peterfish, Julie (David) Tepe, Tyler Wetta, Kyle Higgins, Carter Higgins; great grandchildren Brooklynn Peterfish, Layla Peterfish and August Tepe; special siblings by marriage, Madelyn and Charles (deceased) Parsons, Leota and John Sang; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary grew up in Pomeroy Ohio and graduated from Pomeroy HS in 1952. She enjoyed a variety of activities including being Head Majorette for the marching band and being selected Harvest Festival Queen her junior year. Along with her enjoyment of roller skating and dancing she was heavily involved in the performing arts playing the clarinet and holding various roles in school plays. She continued her education at Miami University before marrying her high school sweetheart Roy Higgins May 29th 1954. After moving to Westerville, she spent 20 years as a teller at City National Bank, and eventually retired from the Westerville City Schools Administrations Accounts Payable department. A member of Grace Polaris Church for more than 50 years Mary was active in Serving MY Master (SMM) a young girls ministry and working in the toddler room during services. Above all she was a devoted mother of three. An amazing seamstress she created countless gowns for her girls to wear to proms and special events. She was a wonderful grandmother and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren on special occasions including vacations to Myrtle Beach and Disney World.

Family and friends may call on Monday August 28 from 11:30a to 1:00p at the Grace Polaris Church, 8225 Worthington Galena Rd, Westerville, Ohio 43081. A Celebration of Mary's life will follow at 1:00p. Procession to Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43213 will follow immediately after the service.
