Maria Mentzer

Maria Mentzer, age 95, passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Maria was born on September 12th, 1927 in Germany. She enjoyed reading and trying new food recipes. Maria was proud of her family and loved spending time with them. She retired from Sanese Food Service after 27 years.She is survived by her children, Rosemarie (Rich) Grondalski of Centerburg, Ohio, Cheryl (Ron) Keller of Westerville, Ohio, James (Julie) Mentzer of Westerville, Ohio, and John (Tami Duffy) Mentzer of Columbus, Ohio.Grandchildren, Kelly Irwin, Amanda Christy, and Jacob Christy of Westerville, Ohio, Amy (Paul) Matucci of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Zachary Mentzer of Columbus Ohio. Great Grandchildren, Lucas (Stephanie D'Aula) Irwin, and Colton Irwin of Fargo, North Dakota, Tessa Irwin of Westerville, Ohio, Carson and Roghan Hunley of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and newborn, Noah Martucci of Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Great Great Grandson, Samuel P. Irwin of Columbus, Ohio.She is preceded in death by her husband, John Mentzer, son, Jeffery Mentzer, and grandson, Brandon Mentzer. Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, on Wednesday 4-6 p.m. and Thursday 10-11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m.. Interment at Blendon Central Cemetery.The family would like to thank Capital City Hospice Comfort Care for helping mom to go home.
