Margaret M. (DeFranco) Carres, age 88, of Columbus, OH. Friday, July 9, 2010. Beloved mother, grandmother and a devout Christian. Survived by children, Danny (Connie) Carres of Westerville, James (Bethany) Carres of Ostrander and Vianne (Richard) Gossett of Pataskala; grandchildren, Tammy (Tom) Fogel, Tracy Carres, Jenifer (John) Grissom and Adrienne Gossman; great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Kayla Fogel, and Chloe Grissom; sister, Viola (Richard) Newlon; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, George B. Carres, brothers and sister. No visitation. Graveside service and burial for family and close friends will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2010 at Blendon Central Cemetery, corner of Hempstead and Dempsey Roads. Dr. Richard Ellsworth, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbus Charity Newsies, 4300 Indianola Avenue, Columbus, OH 43214.

We are greatly saddened by the passing of Margaret. She was a lovely person with an open and generous heart. Her journey through through life was not always easy, but she was always able to maintain a positive Christian outlook. She will be missed, but will remain to us a memory of inspiration and affection.
