Luella Pearl Huffman, age 99, of Columbus, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Columbus Colony Elderly Care Center in Westerville, Ohio. She was born February 25, 1915 to the late Frank Porter and Pearl Ethel (Shuff) Hempy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Huffman, brothers, Roy, Charles, Frank, and Delmar Hempy, and sisters, Fern Myers, Florence Bollinger, Martha Rittenhouse, Eva Moore, and Norma Shaw. Luella Huffman was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her close relationship with Him allowed her to minister and bless many. Even though Luella did not have children of her own, she was a mother to many. She had a servant’s heart, caring for the sick and volunteering in nursing homes. She continually lifted family and friends up in prayer until the Lord called her home. She is now with her dear mother who she loved and admired greatly. Before retiring, Luella worked in the county of Panama and throughout the United States as a Secretary. This included Federal jobs as well as single corporations and in hospitals as a medical secretary. After retiring, Luella volunteered her services to a local radio station as well as in her local community. Luella is survived and loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 followed by a service at 1 p.m.. Burial will follow in Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
