Linda Jones-Barden

Linda Francic Jones-Barden was born March 30, 1948 in Ecorse Michigan to Joseph Jones and Elizabeth Parsons. She spent most of her childhood and Attended school in Betsy Layne, Kentucky. She Married William Carroll in March 1967 in Michigan that union ended in 1979. She was a strong single mother of three until she met Andrew AJ Barden in 1997. They got married and traveled the United States with the IBEW brotherhood for 22 years. He proudly represented local #1205. They purchased a home in 2015 in Moss Point, Mississippi in preparation of retirement. AJ sadly passed in May 2019 one year after he retired. Linda remained in that home caring for her ailing brother until she contracted meningitis B, after a two week battle she conquered that but not before contracting COVID-19 which she also managed to beat, however the residual effects from that disease left her unable to fight and she sadly left us on June 26, 2021 a little after 4 p.m. at Mobile Infirmary with family and friends by her side. She leaves behind to cherish her life a daughter, Jenniffer Ploeger; her son William E. (Bonnie) Carroll ll; stepchildren, Elaine, Wayne and Lura (Billy) Barden; grandchildren; Brenda Joe (Mark) Newsome, Bobby Joe (Amber) Cadle, R. Delone (Angela) Heflin, Brandon Joe (Tiffany) Giles, Shelby Lynn (Marcus) Carroll, Marinda Olivia Loetta Heflin, and Morgan Jade Carroll; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Jim) Sutfin; brothers, Lloyd Jones and Tom (Zora) Jones; and many, many nieces and nephews and great friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Andrew J. Barden, daughter, Loetta C. Newsome, and grandson, Dustin Matthew Carroll, sister, Mildred Jones, brothers, Floyd Jones, Bobby Glenn Jones, Jimmie Jones, Butch Jones, Ralph Lawson, and Danny McKinney. Visitation will be held at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Saturday 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. followed by a service at 2:30 p.m.. Interment Burnside Cemetery.
