Lawrence (Larry) Maxwell McCartney, Jr.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Lawrence (Larry) Maxwell McCartney, Jr. who passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at age 85.  Born in Columbus, Ohio, Larry was the son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Wilma McCartney. He graduated from Central High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life, Martha, and later earned his degree from Franklin University. Larry enjoyed a successful career at Scott's Miracle-Gro, retiring as Vice President of Information Systems. He was a devoted and deeply cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha; his children Kim (Andy) Cody, Laurie McCartney, and Melanie (Jon) Kinkel; grandchildren Morgan (Kevin) Adik, Martha Cody, Hunter Minney, Gage (Alexis) Minney, and Gabrielle (Justen) Copley; great-grandson, Owen; his brother, Emmett; sister-in-law, Rachel; and many nieces and nephews.
